One study identified that kind of animal called gecko lizard (
Trichopsis vittatus or Osphromenus vittatus) and is often used in
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has anti tumor effects. Anti tumor properties is demontrated through ability to inhibit tumors by strengthening the body's energy. The team headed by Prof. Wang from Henan University, China, shows that the active substance geckos response not only improve the immune system of an organism, but also induces tumor cell apoptosis(who killed itself) and suppres the expression of VEGF and bFGF protein, factor supporting the development of cancer.
Chemotherapy, one of the main methods of cancer threatments that often do the doctors today have a weakness because it can not selectively attack cancer cells that effect the anti cancer substance itself, is also toxic. In the last 40 years, expert from China have been getting and using the method of cancer threatment more effective, whice is integrated with TCM plus chemotherapy. The findings of this has been published a year ago on july 7, 2008 at the World Journal of Gastroenetrology
